The 2013 Power-Con shirts are here with a series of awesome new designs. Plus, if you are an advanced ticket holder, you can preorder your shirts before July 31st to save $5.00 off the regular price and choose from an assortment of different colors!

There are ten different art styles to choose from. Click here to see samples of all available artwork. Additionally, preordered shirts offer 3XL and 4XL sizes which won’t be available at the show.

Gerrianne Raphael joins the guest list!

Gerrianne Raphael is an actress who provided the voices for Chilla, Pumyra, and Jaguara on the original ThunderCats cartoon series.

In addition, Ms. Raphael has appeared on such series as My Little Pony: Rescue at Midnight Castle, Law & Order: SVU, and 30 Rock.

Shannon Eric Denton joins the guest list!

Shannon Eric Denton was a storyboard artist on the 2002 He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series from Mike Young Productions that aired on Cartoon Network and the 2003 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. He also did early character development work for Warner Bros. on the current ThunderCats series.

In addition to He-Man, Mr. Denton has worked on such popular animated projects as X-Men, Spider-Man, Jimmy Neutron, Teen Titans, and Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.

David Wise joins the guest list!

David Wise is a television and animation writer who in 1987 developed and wrote the five-part animated pilot for the original Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles. He created such classic phrases as “cowabunga, dude!” and developed the characters of Krang, Rocksteady, and Bebop. In addition to over 70 episodes of Turtles, Wise also wrote numerous episodes for Filmation’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.

Hotel Update – Less than 10% of our block remains!

We wanted to let everyone know only less than 10% of our hotel block at the Torrance Marriott South Bay remains! If you want to get in on our discounted hotel rate, this is your last chance!

The convention dates are Saturday, September 14th and Sunday, September 15th. Discount room rates are available for Thursday, Friday, and the nights of the convention on Saturday and Sunday.

You can also make reservations over the phone by calling 800-228-9290 using the group code “POW” for Power-Con.

All reservations must be made before Friday, August 23rd to qualify for the group rate.

Last year our discounted hotel room block sold out before the show. But, the hotel saw a sizable amount of last minute room cancellations in our room block. Because of this, many attending fans were unable to get the convention’s discounted room rate for their hotel stay.

Due to the increased popularity of Power-Con and to help insure more attending fans will get the discounted rate, the hotel will be charging the first night’s stay for all new reservations. Once you make your reservation, your credit card will be charged the first night’s stay in approximately 48 hours. This only applies to reservations made starting today.

Peter Newman joins the guest list!

Peter Newman is best known to ThunderCats fans for being the voice actor to bring the popular character Tygra to life in the original cartoon series. In addition to Tygra, he also provided the voices for Wilykat, Bengali, Monkian, and Hachiman.

Mr. Newman’s other voice work includes Silverhawks, Felix the Cat, Filmore!, and most recently he can be heard as Maj. Nikolai Jackov on FX Network’s original series Archer.

Ninja Turtle Van pulling in to Power-Con!

Have your eyes peeled before entering the Marriott during this year’s Power-Con for the Teenage Muntant Ninja Turtles van! Owned by Jason Ybarra, and inspired by his love for the original TMNT cartoon, the Turtle van will be on display near the entrance of the hotel. Check out the adventures the van has already been on by visiting its Facebook page.

Charity Auction Entry Form

The Power-Con charity auction has proven to be a lot of fun each year and we expect this year to be no different. We hope everyone will come out to bid for fun and rare collectibles from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Masters of the Universe, Princess of Power and ThunderCats. 50% of all money raised goes to Keep a Child Alive which is dedicated to providing life-saving HIV treatment, care, nutritious food, support services and love to children and families affected by HIV in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and India.

Even if you are on the fence about participating, we strongly recommend you sign up for a bidder paddle to have handy just in case. That way if you want to jump in on the bidding action, you will be prepared. Plus the bidder paddles always make for great Power-Con mementos.

To expedite the registration process we have a bidder form to fill out and submit to the Registration desk at Power-Con. You can download the form by clicking on this link, then fill it out ahead of time and submit it to Power-Con at the convention. Alternatively, forms will be available at the Registration desk that you can fill out when picking up or purchasing a pass to the convention.

Only give your form to a Power-Con official wearing a STAFF badge at the Registration desk. All submitted forms will be kept secure and destroyed thirty days after Power-Con ends. When you submit your form, you will also need to show your credit card and photo ID (US driver’s license or international passport) for verification purposes. After that, you will be assigned and provided a bidder paddle to use in the auction. Anyone participating in the auction must submit a registration form as we do not keep your information on file from prior conventions.

The auction takes place Saturday, September 14th, 2013 at 3:30pm and will be followed immediately by the cosplay contest at 6:00pm. So be sure to submit your form to the Registration desk between the hours of 10:00am and 3:00pm the same day of the auction.
