Gerald Forton attending Power-Con 2017

Gérald Forton is an artist who illustrated the He-Man newspaper comic strips and also served as a model artist, character designer, and layout artist on Filmation’s He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and She-Ra Princess of Power cartoon series.

Mr. Forton’s career spans decades, beginning in the 1950s with work on popular French and Belgian comic magazines. Throughout the 80s and 90s, he worked not only for DC Comics but a wide array of popular cartoons such as Captain Planet and the Planeteers, The Real Ghostbusters, James Bond Jr, and C.O.P.S.

Brian Dobson is a voice actor with over 16 years of experience who used his talents to bring Skeletor, Keldor, King Hiss, Buzz-Off, and Webstor to life in the Mike Young Productions’ He-Man and the Masters of the Universe 2002 series that ran on Cartoon Network.

Showcasing a full range of voice talent from warm and deep to devilish and low growly levels, Mr. Dobson’s other credits have included roles on such hits as Dragon Ball Z, InuYasha, Transformers, Mobile Suit Gundam, and Krypto the Superdog.

Eric Van Baars portrayed Skeletor in the Masters of the Universe Power Tour.

Eric has been a theatre artist for over 30 years and is currently a faculty member of the School of Theatre and Dance at Kent State University, where he serves as Performance Area Coordinator.

Paul Dobson is a voice actor who provided the voices for Tri-Klops, Man-E-Faces, Snake Face, Trap Jaw, and Chief Carnivus in the Mike Young Productions He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon series on Cartoon Network.

He is best known as Naraku and Myoga from InuYasha, Doctor Doom from Fantastic Four: World’s Greatest Heroes, Juggernaut from X-Men Evolution, Happosai from Ranma ½, Enzo Matrix from ReBoot, Folken Fanel from the Ocean dub of Escaflowne, and Zarbon from the Ocean dub of Dragon Ball Z.

Paul Cleveland was an engineer and Vice President of Marketing at Mattel during the original run of Masters of the Universe. Paul’s suggestion of a battle action waist became a staple in the production of the action figures and he was involved with the brand all the way through the live action motion picture.

Jeremy Padawer was the brand and marketing manager at Mattel who worked directly with the 2002 relaunch of Masters of the Universe.  He worked with not only the Four Horsemen but the fan community as well over the course of the brand.

Padawer is currently the Co-President of Wicked Cool Toys that produces products for such brands as Cabbage Patch Kids, Teddy Ruxpin, and WWE.

Cosplay Contest at Power-Con 2017

Power-Con 2017 wants to see you bring our favorite Masters of the Universe and Princess of Power characters to life. Are you ready to scare the masses with your Skeletor? Impress the audience with your She-Ra? We can’t wait to see everyone in their cosplay!

If you plan to attend the show in costume, we are hosting a contest for all cosplayers who dress as a Masters of the Universe or Princess of Power character, complete with cash prizes!

• One “Grand Prize Winner” will receive a prize package consisting of a check in the amount of $500.00.
• One “First Runner-Up” will receive a prize package consisting of a check in the amount of $250.00.
• One “Second Runner-Up” will receive a prize package consisting of a check in the amount of $125.00.
• Four “Honorable Mentions” will each receive a prize package consisting of a check in the amount of $25.00.

Contest guidelines:
• Entries must be characters from, or inspired by, Masters of the Universe and/or Princess of Power
• Contestants must report to the outside of the main panel room by 4:30pm Pacific Time on Saturday, September 9, 2017 to check in with the master of ceremonies.
• Following reporting and following MC instructions, Contestants must be present, lined up and organized for the contest in the main panel room on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 5:30pm Pacific Time.
• Contest will be judged by a panel of professional cosplayers and/or professional artists. Their decisions are final.

• The Cosplay Entry Form must be filled out and delivered to the Registration area at the convention on Saturday, September 9, 2017 before 3:00pm Pacific Time.

James Eatock attending Power-Con 2017

Writer James “Busta Toons” Eatock worked on The Art of He-Man and the Masters of the UniverseHe-Man and the Masters of the Universe: A Complete Guide — the official guide to the Filmation He-Man and She-Ra cartoon series, and the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe Character Guide and World Compendium, all published by Dark Horse Comics.

In addition to publishing his magazine cereal:geek, James runs the Official He-Man YouTube Channel, worked on the first BCI DVD releases of He-Man and She-Ra, and co-wrote an in-depth guide to the original He-Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon series for Mattel that was used in conjunction with the production of the Mike Young Productions cartoon series of the same name.

Chelsea Field attending Power-Con 2017

Chelsea Field is known to He-Man fans for her portrayal of Teela in the 1987 live action Masters of the Universe motion picture.

Ms. Fields has also appeared in countless television series including NCIS, Without A Trace, Cold Case, and Tales from the Crypt.

Gus Park attending Power-Con 2017

Gus Park portrayed Ninjor and provided fight choreography work for the Masters of the Universe Power Tour that visited 35 cities, including venues coast to coast from Radio City Music Hall to the LA Sports Arena. Gus has now worked on various movies, TV shows, commercials, and music videos as an actor, stunt man, and grip.
